Spaces We Paint

Interior painting for every room in your Scottsdale home

A full interior repaint involves more than rolling paint on walls. Furniture needs to be moved and protected, walls require repair and preparation, trim needs to be caulked and sanded, and the right sheen needs to be selected for each space. Every room has its own considerations.

🛋️

Living Rooms

Accent walls, full room repaints, ceilings, and trim. We work around existing furniture and protect floors and fixtures throughout.

🛏️

Bedrooms

Complete bedroom repaints including walls, ceilings, closet interiors, and trim. Color changes, touch-ups, or full refreshes.

🍳

Kitchens

Walls, ceilings, and trim in kitchens. Cabinet painting is a separate service with its own preparation process.

🚿

Bathrooms

Bathrooms benefit from higher-sheen paints that resist moisture and are easier to clean. We discuss appropriate sheens for each space.

🚶

Hallways & Stairways

High-traffic areas that see more wear. Proper surface preparation and appropriate sheen selection extend the appearance of painted hallways.

🏠

Home Offices

Color and finish choices that work with natural and artificial light in dedicated work spaces.

⬆️

Ceilings

Flat or low-sheen ceiling paint applied cleanly without lap marks. Popcorn ceilings require separate consideration.

🚪

Doors & Trim

Interior doors, baseboards, window casings, crown molding, and built-in details. Trim work requires sanding and enamel application.

Interior Preparation

What professional interior preparation looks like

Professional interior painting quality depends on what happens before the first coat goes on. Walls often have nail holes, minor dents, hairline cracks, and other imperfections that need to be filled and sanded before painting. Trim needs to be caulked and lightly sanded. Floors and furniture need to be protected.

Rushing preparation shows in the finished work. Taking the time to repair walls properly, mask carefully, and cut in cleanly makes a visible difference in the final result — particularly on smoother surfaces and in rooms with strong natural light.

Furniture Moving & Protection

Furniture is moved to the center of the room or removed. Floors are covered with drop cloths throughout the project.

Wall Repairs

Nail holes, dents, hairline cracks, and minor drywall imperfections are filled, dried, and sanded smooth before painting.

Caulking

Gaps at trim joints, baseboard corners, window casings, and crown molding are caulked for a clean finished appearance.

Sanding

Surfaces are lightly sanded where needed to improve adhesion, smooth repairs, and prepare trim for enamel application.

Masking

Outlets, fixtures, hardware, and adjacent surfaces are masked. Clean masking lines result in clean paint lines.

Priming

Bare drywall, repaired areas, stains, and significant color changes may require primer before topcoats are applied.

Paint Sheen Guide

Choosing the right interior paint finish

Paint sheen affects appearance, cleanability, and durability. The right choice depends on the room, traffic level, moisture exposure, and the condition of the surfaces. There is no single finish that is best for every situation.

FinishAppearanceWashabilityCommon Uses

Flat / Matte

No sheen, absorbs light

Limited — marks more easily

Ceilings, low-traffic rooms, walls with imperfections

Hides surface imperfections well. Not ideal for high-traffic or high-moisture areas.

Eggshell

Very slight soft sheen

Moderate — more washable than flat

Living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways

A common choice for interior walls. More durable than flat while still relatively forgiving of surface imperfections.

Satin

Soft, velvety sheen

Good — more washable

Kitchens, family rooms, children's rooms, high-traffic areas

More durable and washable than eggshell. Shows surface imperfections more than flat finishes.

Semi-Gloss

Noticeable sheen

Very good — highly washable

Trim, doors, baseboards, bathrooms, kitchens

Standard for trim and doors. Moisture-resistant and easy to clean. Shows surface imperfections clearly.
